Cervical Screening

Cervical Screening

Cervical screening is also known as the 'smear test'. It is designed to check cells from your cervix so they can be monitored or treated. Without treatment these changes can sometimes develop into cervical cancer.

Cervical screening can stop cervical cancer before it starts.

All women in Scotland aged 25 to 49 are offered a test every 3 years.

Women aged 50 to 64 are offered a test every 5 years.

Contact the practice on 01224 492828 to book an appointment if you have received your invitation or if you think your test is overdue.
