GP/Advanced Nurse Practitioner Appointments -

When calling to book an appointment we will let you know the date/time of our next routine appointment and which health care professional is best for your needs. If your symptoms needs urgent attention, we will refer to our duty doctor working alongside our receptionists to assess this. 

Nurse Appointments

Please call us to book your nurse appointment - the majority of appointments are held face to face. Some appointments for asthma or COPD review may be held by telephone. 

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If we are closed, you can cancel online or leave a message on 01224 283934 to cancel your appointment and this will be dealt with the next working day. 

Non-Attendance

If you don't attend a pre-booked appointment, this may result in you being asked to register elsewhere. We will always write to you first to warn you that this may happen. 

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. If you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00am.

You can only ask for a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice (as our clinicians can see far more patients at the practice than they can by visiting). An Advanced Nurse Practitioner from the City Visiting Service or a GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition needs it - they will also decide how quickly a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide details of what is wrong with you to allow us to arrange house calls.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.

Training Practice

This practice is approved for General Practitioner training and we often have medical students and fully qualified doctors with us to complete their training. 

As part of training we have to make recordings of some consultations to help improve the doctor's skills. If any doctor wishes to record your consultations this will be discussed with you beforehand and we will make sure you are happy for this to happen before any recording is done. You need not be recorded if you don't want this to happen.
